On Friday, May 29, 2026, the workshop “Are You In Agri-Food? Discover opportunities for startup development in BiH” was held in the premises of the Banja Luka Regional Chamber of Commerce, organized in cooperation with the STARTER conference . The event brought together representatives of the economy, the academic community, development organizations, students and future entrepreneurs interested in the development of innovative solutions in the field of agriculture, food industry and bioeconomy.
The aim of the workshop was to connect actors from the agri-food sector and innovation, to present opportunities for startup development, as well as to familiarize participants with support programs, international projects and opportunities for inclusion in European initiatives aimed at the development of entrepreneurship and new business models.
A special segment of the bio event is dedicated to the promotion of the Sole MED project, which is implemented as part of the Interreg Euro-MED program . The project brings together partners from several Mediterranean countries with the aim of strengthening innovation, developing the bioeconomy and encouraging entrepreneurship, with a special focus on young people, the startup community and cooperation between business, educational and research institutions.
Through the presentation of project activities, participants are introduced to the possibilities of involvement in the development of startup ideas, mentoring support, international cooperation and activities that contribute to the creation of sustainable and innovative solutions in the field of food production, agriculture and bioeconomy. Special attention is devoted to the development of StartupLab as a place for connecting innovators, companies, experts and organizations that want to actively contribute to the development of the startup ecosystem.
During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to learn more about the process of developing a startup idea, market validation, available forms of support, as well as examples of successful initiatives from the agri-food sector. The event provided a space for exchanging experiences, networking and establishing new contacts among the participants.
